COMMENT DEADLINE: 7 MARCH 2025
IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT THAT
AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE GIVE THEIR VIEWS
Following the meeting on Wednesday, 26 February, at which the Parish Council explained where we are in the South Warwickshire Local Plan process, it confirms its stance as:
1. STRATEGIC GROWTH SITES
The Parish Council OBJECTS to the Strategic Growth sites (SG04 and SG07) on the grounds that:
- It is a further loss of green belt
- Is not required as the housing supply can be provided by existing and designated brownfield and other allocated sites.
- In the specific case of LW the encroachment from both Kenilworth and Warwick will result in total removal of green belt buffers between these locations and LW with the loss of the village character and the amalgamation of both large urban centres.
2. SMALL SCALE DEVELOPMENT, SETTLEMENT BOUNDARIES AND INFILL DEVELOPMENT
The PC OBJECTS, at this stage, to all pink sites (Small Scale Development, Settlement Boundaries, and Infill Development) within the village as development on these areas would be highly disproportionate to the existing size of the existing community. The currently granted development at the Police Headquarters already provide growth in accordance with the current Local Plan requirements for Growth Villages and hence the PC considers any additional development as unnecessary and contrary to the existing Local Plan Policy.
The PC OBJECTS to the Hill Wootton Site and the Loes Farm site again on the basis of the arguments above for loss of green belt.
