On 14 March 2017 the Parish Council formally adopted a Community Engagement Strategy and a Grant-Making Policy, which establishes a scheme for grants to community groups and organisations, thereby formalising the existing ad-hoc grant-awards process.
The grant fund for the setup year is small and it is anticipated that the scheme will evolve as funding increases in line with an increased Precept in future years, as the community grows in population. Applicants are advised that only small grants will be available in the initial years and applications will be approved/refused accordingly.
This is a fund for Community Organisations or Groups. Bids should be made for projects which will be of benefit to the whole community or a specific group whose principal objectives are not those of a single individual. Applications will not be accepted where the benefit is to a single individual*. Click here to read the full application guidance.
* Educational Grants for individuals up to 25 are available for young people from Leek Wootton & Guy’s Cliffe from the Leigh Educational Foundation
We recommend that a representative of your organisation/group contacts the Clerk to discuss any potential project before completing the application form
